Pursuant to Section 104 of the Personal Income Tax Act, 2011 (as amended) and in line with other relevant statutory provisions, the Kwara State Internal Revenue Service (KW-IRS) hereby gives notice to concerned hotel, event centre and filling station owners and the general public of the commencement of enforcement exercise on Hotels, Filling Stations and Event Centres within Ilorin metropolis and across the State effective Monday, 17th February, 2025 due to non-compliance with tax obligations.
The Service wishes to reiterate its support for business growth and affirm that continuous enforcement exercise on tax defaulters in the State is aimed at strenghtening legal and regulatory compliance and improving the internally generated revenue of the State having exhausted all necessary measures and processes to ensure voluntary tax compliance.
All business owners are by this message advised to pay their tax liabilities as and when due to avoid having their business operations disrupted in addition to payment of applicable penalties and interests as stipulated by law.
Taxpayers can make payment via the KW-IRS Self Service Portal at selfservice.kwirs.com, or through any of the online payment platforms provided by the Service (Quickteller and Remita).
