As part of its mandate to foster tax education among the younger generation, the Kwara State Internal Revenue Service (KW-IRS) hosted students from the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) and Kwara State University (KWASU) on an excursion program centered on tax enlightenment and public finance, on Wednesday, 28th May, 2025, at its Corporate Head Office, G.R.A, Ilorin.

Welcoming the students, the Director, Admin and Operations, Yusuf La-Kadri, described KW-IRS as a citadel of practical learning in Kwara State, highlighting the Service’s relevance to academic research. He noted that several academic theses have been developed using the operations and structure of KW-IRS as case studies, thus positioning the Service as a resource center for students and researchers.
The Head, Corporate Planning, Mohammed Audu, alongside some staff of the department, gave a comprehensive overview of the Service’s operational framework, processes, and its economic impact on the development of Kwara State. Audu further encouraged the students to spread the knowledge gained by enlightening members of their communities on the importance of taxation to societal development.
The students appreciated the facilitators, asking tax-related questions and making enquiries on matters relevant to their academic and professional interests, after which they were taken on a tour of some departments within the Revenue House.
