In a bid to promote revenue growth in Kwara State, the Executive Chairman, Kwara State Internal Revenue Service, KW-IRS, Shade Omoniyi, paid a working visit to the Honourable Commissioner for Transport, Hon. Lafia Aliyu Kora Sabi, in his office on Wednesday, 2nd April, 2025.
Omoniyi congratulated the Commissioner on his new role and stated the need to strengthen the relationship between KW-IRS and the Ministry to promote revenue growth for the State. She emphasized the importance of collaboration in areas such as vehicle inspection systems, reviewing all platforms across the State, and improving compliance in revenue collection by transporters.




There were discussions on the importance of continued registration and licensing of Okada and Tricycle Riders in the State through the issuance of rider permits, as well as a proposal to introduce the Park and Pay system to correct parking issues and promote revenue growth.
The Commissioner appreciated the visit and affirmed that the inter-agency collaboration will make significant positive changes in revenue growth and transportation development, ultimately benefiting the people of Kwara State.
Present at the meeting were the Ministry’s Director, Personnel, Finances and Supply and Ag. Permanent Secretary, Hajia Medinat Ajao; Director, Road, Rail and Waterways, Mr. Oyinloye Solomon; and KW-IRS Director, MDAs, Omotayo Ayinla, among other officials from both Agencies.
